Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival/ Nairobi Arrival at JKIA international airport. After customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by Frate Tours representative for briefing and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel/ equivalent
Day 2: Nairobi - Maasai Mara At your Hotel, you will be met by a Frate Tours representative for briefing. You will be introduced to your driver/guide, later you will proceed north of Nairobi into the Great Rift Valley with a brief stopover at the rift valley view point. The Great Rift Valley is one of the wonders of the world, stretching from the Syria, down through Africa, stretching as far as Mozambique. The mesmerizing view, as you approach from Nairobi, Kenya is breathtaking. The ground suddenly disappears from under you to show the huge expanse of the great rift, stretching into the horizon in either direction. Day 3: Maasai Mara Depending on the wildlife migration patterns and the weather, early morning breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Masai Mara is famous for its black mane lions and the annual wildebeest migration. This is probably one of Kenya???s most visited national reserve with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti eco systems giving life to the both reserves before finally pouring out into the Lake Victoria. Impressive and most notable is the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle instinct led migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya. This journey is coupled by numerous obstacles which makes it even more magnificent. You will have a picnic lunch and continue with the game drives arriving at the lodge in the evening for a well deserved rest and hot relaxing shower.
Day 4: Maasai Mara - Lake Naivasha Depart Masai Mara national reserve after an early breakfast. You will have a brief stop over at the Masai town of Narok after which you will proceed towards Lake Naivasha. On the way you will pass the Mount Longonot before arriving at the fresh water Lake Naivasha for lunch and an overnight stay. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to the shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo population sleep the day out in the shallow lake shores. The region surrounding the Lake is well worth exploring. There are two smaller lakes nearby, Oloidien, and Sonachi, a bright green cater lake. Hell???s Gate National Park lies beside the lake. Walking is permitted, making it ideal for hiking, biking, and rock climbing. Boat trips on the lake are widely available, and are a great way to spend the afternoon. Overnight Kiboko luxury camp
Day 5: Lake Naikvasha - Amboseli National Park Early breakfast at the lodge and depart Lake Nakuru heading for the Amboseli National park. You will pass by Nairobi city and proceed south through the Kapiti and Konza plains. You will arrive at Amboseli in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Tortilis camp/ equivalent
Day 6: Amboseli National Park You will have two game drives on this day. An early morning and evening game drive. You will have the remainder of the day at leisure and open for any optional activities you may be interested in i.e. visiting a Masai Village. Amboseli National Park is located in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The ecosystem mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species including Lions, Cheetahs, Zebras, and Wildebeest among others. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 7: Amboseli - Tsavo westAfter breakfast you will depart Amboseli National Park and head for the Tsavo West national Park. You will trace the foot of the Kilimanjaro passing the Chuylu Hills and into the Shetani Lava Flow. ???Shetani??? meaning Devil, is a stretch of solid a black lava flow which were the remains of volcanic eruptions after it spewed from the earth some 240 years ago. The Tsavo West ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges. Major wildlife attractions include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler. Day 8: Tsavo West - Tsavo East After breakfast, you leave the hotel and head for the Tsavo river gate where you will exit the Tsavo. We enter the Tsavo East stopping briefly at the Mudanda Rock. Located near Voi and Manyani gates, the Mudanda rock is one of the great spectacles of Tsavo East Safari park. This massive rock, which emerges from the plain, is a water catchments area which supplies a natural dam at its base. It is a vital watering point during the dry seasons. Famous for it's photo opportunities. At 1.6 km long, 20 m high, the rock offers unique panoramic views across Tsavo East and Tsavo National Parks. You will arrive at the hotel in time for lunch. The Joint mass of Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks forms one of the largest National parks in the world and covers a massive 4% of Kenya???s total land area. Tsavo East the larger of the two, lies to the east of the Nairobi Mombasa road, equidistant between Nairobi and Mombasa, and offers a vast and untapped arena of arid bush which is washed by azure and emerald Kenya Beachmeandering of Galana River. Guarded by the limitless lava reaches of Yatta plateau and patrolled by some of the largest elephant herds in Kenya. Overnight at Kilalinda camp/ equivalent
Day 9: Tsavo East - WatamuAfter breakfast, you will leave your hotel as you exit the park. You will exit through the Bachuma gate which is approximately 120 kilometres from Mombasa Town. You will arrive in Mombasa in time for lunch. Drop off will be at your hotel of choice in Watamu where the Safari ends
